Chicory

Chicory is a drought tolerant and mineral rich perennial taproot herb that belongs to the sunflower family. It produces abundant, high protein forage throughout the summer. It is used in wildlife food plot mixtures for deer, grouse, and turkeys. It is used agriculturally for beef and sheep pastures. Chicory is best suited to well or moderately well drained soils and tolerates drought conditions very well.
