Description
Mahulena is a festulolium dressed like a tall fescue. A top-yielding variety combined with early maturity and excellent persistency, but better feeding quality. Mahulena combines faster establishment and the higher forage quality of ryegrass, while maintaining persistency and heat tolerance of tall fescue.
It can complement orchardgrass and perennial ryegrass in mixtures, improving yield and summer performance. Mahulena is very suited for hay, silage production and grazing. Due to its early maturity, providse early spring production and allows for stockpiling the fall regrowth after the summer slump. This endophyte-free festulolium best suits a 5 to 6 cut management when combined with alfalfa to maximize yield and forage quality.
